The work that is being carried out by the Agency is aimed to improve the city’s environmental quality and sustainable development by promoting energy savings, energy efficiency and the use and knowledge of renewable energies, and by optimising the quality of the services connected with this sector.

More specifically, the main objectives of the Agency are:

		To foster innovative actions that promote the use of local renewable energies and the increase of energy efficiency, with a view to motivating Society with respect to energy sustainability.
		To carry out exemplary actions in relation to the utilisation of local resources and the increase of energy efficiency in each of the city’s main sectors, so as to open the way for derived actions that may be carried out later in each sector, in accordance with the model developed by the Agency.
		To provide information, technical support and advice with respect to the management of the municipal sectors which require this assistance in their work on energy matters.
		To promote the active role of the citizenry with respect to a new energy model based on a better knowledge of energy services, on access to energy efficiency elements, and on the conscious practice of energy saving.
		To provide information and advice on energy matters to the citizens, collectivities, companies and institutions requiring it.
