The Barcelona Energy Improvement Plan includes a project to create an Energy Observatory that will be designed to monitor the situation of the energy sector in the city and above all, to act as a forum bringing together the various agents involved in energy matters, in order to establish points of relationship between them.

The Agency is preparing a study that will allow the creation of this instrument, which is intended to be rigorous and independent with the aim to spread the knowledge of the energy production and consumption trends and their social and environmental repercussions.

The Energy Observatory will also monitor the application of the Barcelona Energy Improvement Plan and establish guidelines for updating it.
